thetechpencil covers technology, politics, money, media, culture, and institutional power as one connected system. We look for the mechanism underneath the headline: who gains leverage, who loses it, what changed, and what evidence supports the claim.
Evidence
Articles should distinguish reported fact from interpretation. When a piece makes a factual claim, it should be grounded in documents, public records, direct statements, credible reporting, data, or clearly described firsthand observation.
Opinion and Analysis
The publication has a point of view, but argument does not excuse sloppiness. Analysis should show its work, avoid loaded labels without a concrete mechanism, and make clear when something is inference rather than established fact.
Corrections
When we materially get something wrong, we correct it. Minor spelling, grammar, formatting, or link fixes may be made silently. Substantive corrections or meaningful updates should be reflected in the article text or update date when appropriate.
Updates
Articles are not republished under new URLs to make old work look new. If a story is meaningfully updated, the original URL stays in place and the page may show an updated date. The original publication date remains intact.
Independence
thetechpencil is independent and self-funded. Editorial judgment is not sold to advertisers, sponsors, campaigns, vendors, or political organizations.
